Bookkeeping Services
for Your Business

Every month, your books either tell you what’s happening in your business or they don’t. Robert G. Neumann Accounting Services makes sure they do.

Robert and his team have provided bookkeeping services for businesses across the country since 2007. Staff with accounting degrees, record your transactions, reconcile your accounts, and prepare your financial statements each month. A senior general ledger accountant reviews the work before it’s delivered to you. You get accurate numbers that are compliant with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) without doing the bookkeeping yourself.

Our Bookkeeping Services

Monthly Bookkeeping

Each month Robert G. Neumann Accounting Services records every transaction, reconciles accounts, and delivers your financial statements. You always have a current picture of what’s happening in your business. No more worrying and guessing about the financial state of your company. With monthly bookkeeping you’ll know exactly where your business stands

Revenue

Almost every business has a third party “point of sales” provider and none of them provide common sense reporting. Our team efficiently finds the particular report that shows where the “debits and credits” numbers from your sales turn into cash coming into your business.

Payroll

We recommend that you use a third party payroll service provider as soon as you can afford it. We do not provide that service. Rather, we gather the figures from various payroll reports every pay-day so that by year-end, the totals on your books match the total wages and taxes reported to state and federal agencies.

Bank and Credit Card Reconciliations

Our reconciliation process matches every transaction in your books to your actual bank and credit card statements. If something doesn’t line up, we find it and fix it before it becomes a bigger problem. Minor discrepancies that are not caught early may start out small - but over time they can grow into larger, costly errors.

Financial Statements

Each month you receive a draft Balance Sheet, a Statement of Profit and Loss, and a Statement of Cash Flows. At year-end, your tax professional receives a complete package of statements and reports which keeps their prep time down and your tax bill predictable.

Catch-Up Bookkeeping

If your books are months or years behind you are not alone. In fact, our work for new clients commonly begins with bringing their books up to date. It is not an impossible problem; it is a project with a clear beginning and end. Once we get you caught up, we can then move into providing our regular monthly services.

How Pricing Works

There are no rates posted on this site because the right price depends on what your business actually needs. You can sign up for a free one-hour consultation either online, in person, or at your office. After that consultation, you’ll receive a written proposal with estimated startup costs and an estimated monthly fee. You’ll know what remote bookkeeping costs before you commit. No surprises, no pressure.

If the proposal works for you, we can get started. If it doesn’t, you are under no obligation. Schedule your free consultation

The Software We Use

We work primarily with QuickBooks Online. If your business uses different accounting software, that’s fine. We can accommodate other platforms and do not charge you for the time it takes to get up to speed on your setup. The goal is accurate books, not a software conversion.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • How is Robert G. Neumann Accounting Services different from what a bookkeeper does for my business each month?

Your bookkeeper handles the day-to-day records of money coming in and money going out. Every day, they talk with your customers, vendors, and employees. Those are vital and valuable relationships that your business works hard to keep. We have no intention of getting in the way.

While you or your staff take care of day-to-day tasks, we make sure that those daily bookkeeping entries match up to the reports from third party service providers like point of sale software, payroll services, banks, and credit card companies. We review these reports and reconciliations to correct your books, and provide draft financial statements to you each month. Monthly financial statements allow you and interested parties to monitor the health of your business and its profitability.

  • Do I have to use QuickBooks?

No. QuickBooks Online is the platform we work in most often, but we can work with other accounting software. We do not charge you extra to learn your system.

  • How do I find out what it costs?

The first step is a free one-hour consultation. After that, you receive a written proposal with a monthly fee based on what your books require. You see the number before you commit to anything.

  • What if my books are years behind?

Catch-up bookkeeping is one of the most common services clients want when they start with us. We take on the backlog as a project, bring everything current, and then move into providing our regular monthly services to you. There is a clear end point to the process of bringing your books up to date.

  • Who actually does the work?

Bookkeepers with two- and four-year accounting degrees from accredited colleges and universities handle the monthly transaction recording, account reconciliation, and financial statement preparation. A general ledger accountant reviews everything before it is delivered to you. For a fuller picture of our company, you can read more about Robert and the team.
