Financial Statements
for Small Business

Financial statements may sound boring, but knowing exactly where your business stands means the difference between success and failure. Every month Robert G. Neumann Accounting Services issues critical draft financial statements for business owners: Balance Sheet, Statement of Profit and Loss, and Statement of Cash Flows, along with Comparison Statements of Profit and Loss for various time periods. These statements are essential parts of our monthly bookkeeping services, built on a foundation of accurate records, including reconciliations. The numbers are yours to use to move ahead, not just records to file away.

What You Receive Each Month

Four reports, every month, in a plain format:

Balance Sheet: A snapshot of what your business owns and owes right now: assets on one side of the ledger, liabilities and equity on the other. It answers the question: what is my business actually worth today?

Statement of Profit and Loss: This tells you whether your business made money over a given period. Revenue minus expenses equals the profit. When you know this number every month, it means no surprises can derail your business.

Statement of Cash Flows: Profit and cash are not the same thing. This report shows how cash actually moved in and out during each month. Even a profitable business can run short on cash, and this statement shows you why.

Comparison Statements of Profit and Loss: How does this month compare to last month? This quarter to the same quarter last year? Patterns become visible through these statements that give you the power to compare profits and losses over different time periods.

Your Year-End Package

At the end of the calendar or fiscal year, we prepare a trial balance with necessary adjustments and draft financial statements for your review and approval. That makes it easier for your tax professional to complete tax returns more efficiently. This package lowers the annual cost of preparing your taxes.

At tax season, your tax professional receives organized, accurate records instead of a pile of transactions to sort through. Less cleanup time for them means a lower bill for you. Providing clean books is the heart of our promise to you.

We Deliver Straight Answers

Most business owners can check a bank balance, but that does not tell the full story. When you want to know what a number means or why cash looks different from profit, ask Robert. You will get a straight answer.

We know that simply sending you a package of draft financial statements is not enough – so we don’t just drop them in your inbox. We read your financial statements to understand how your business is performing, and we answer your questions when you ask them. That matters.
