Privacy Policy
Effective date: October 15, 2026
Last updated: October 15, 2026
Robert G. Neumann Accounting Services (“we,” “us,” or “our”) respects your privacy. This policy explains what personal information we collect through www.rgnaccounting.com (the “website”), how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices and rights you have. It also explains the rights California residents have under California law.
The short answer: we collect only what we need to answer your questions and serve our clients. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for advertising.
Information We Collect
Information you give us
When you fill out our contact form, email us, or call us, we collect what you choose to share, such as:
- Your name
- Your email address
- Your phone number
- Your business name and the details you include in your message
Information collected automatically
When you visit the website, some information is collected automatically through cookies and similar technologies. Cookies are small text files stored on your device. This information may include:
- Your IP address and approximate location (city or region, based on your IP address)
- Your browser type, device type, and operating system
- The pages you view, how long you stay, and the site that referred you to us
Our analytics provider and our website host collect this information for us. We do not collect precise location information.
Information from our clients
If you become a client, you will share business financial records with us, such as bank and credit card statements and payroll reports. We collect that information under our written engagement agreement, not through this website. We use it only to provide the services you hired us for, and we keep it confidential.
How We Use Your Information
We use personal information to:
- Answer your questions and schedule your free consultation
- Prepare your written proposal and provide the services you hire us for
- Communicate with you about your account and our services
- Operate, maintain, and protect the website, including blocking spam and abuse
- Understand how visitors use the website so we can improve it
- Meet our legal, tax, and professional obligations
Cookies, Analytics, and Spam Protection
We use Google Analytics, through Google Tag Manager, to understand how visitors use the website. Google Analytics uses cookies to collect information such as the pages you visit and how you arrived at our site. To learn how Google uses this information, read “How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services” at https://policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.
Our contact form uses Google reCAPTCHA to tell people apart from automated spam. reCAPTCHA collects information about your device and how you interact with the form, and sends it to Google. Google’s Privacy Policy (https://policies.google.com/privacy) and Terms of Service (https://policies.google.com/terms) apply.
Your choices:
- You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. The website will still work, though some features may not.
- You can stop Google Analytics from collecting your visits by installing the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on at https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.
We do not use advertising cookies, and we do not use your information to show you ads on other websites.
Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control
Some browsers send a “Do Not Track” signal. Because there is no common standard for how websites should respond to it, our website does not currently change its behavior when it receives one.
Google, as our analytics and spam protection provider, may collect information about your activity on our website and may combine it with information about your activity on other websites over time, as described in its own privacy policy. We do not knowingly allow any other third party to collect that kind of information through our website.
If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, we treat it as a request to opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information. We already do not sell or share personal information, so no further action is needed on your part.
How We Share Your Information
We do not sell your personal information, and we have not sold it in the past 12 months. We do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising (advertising based on your activity across different websites). We do not give it to other companies for their own marketing.
We share personal information only with:
- Service providers that help us run our business, such as our website host, email provider, analytics provider, and spam protection provider. They may use the information only to provide services to us.
- People you ask us to share with, such as your tax professional.
- Professional advisors, such as our attorney or insurer, when needed.
- Government authorities or others, when the law requires it, or to protect our rights, our clients, or the public.
- A successor business, if our practice is sold or merged. The new owner would have to protect your information as this policy describes.
How Long We Keep Information
We keep personal information only as long as we need it for the reasons in this policy:
- Inquiries that do not become client relationships: as long as needed to respond and follow up, and for our normal business records.
- Client records: for the length of our engagement, and afterward for as long as tax law, professional standards, or our engagement agreement requires.
- Website analytics information: kept by our analytics provider under the data retention settings for our account.
When we no longer need personal information, we delete it or remove the details that identify you.
How We Protect Your Information
The website uses an encrypted connection (HTTPS) to protect information you send us. We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect personal information, and we limit access to the people who need it to do their work. No method of sending or storing information is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Reviewing and Correcting Your Information
You can ask to see, correct, or update the personal information you gave us through the website at any time. Email us at inbox@rgnaccounting.com or call (510) 523-3368.
Your California Privacy Rights
California law gives California residents the following rights over their personal information. We honor these requests from California residents, and we are glad to help any visitor with a similar request.
- Right to know. You can ask what personal information we have collected about you, where it came from, why we collected it, who we shared it with, and for a copy of the specific information.
- Right to delete. You can ask us to delete personal information we collected from you. We may keep information when the law allows or requires it, for example records we must keep for tax or professional reasons.
- Right to correct. You can ask us to correct personal information that is inaccurate.
- Right to opt out of sale or sharing. We do not sell or share personal information, so there is nothing to opt out of.
- Right to limit use of sensitive personal information. We use sensitive information, such as account numbers in client records, only to provide the services you hired us for, so this right does not change how we handle it.
- Right to equal treatment. We will not deny you service, charge you a different price, or give you a lower level of service because you used any of these rights.
What we collected in the past 12 months
In the past 12 months, we may have collected these categories of personal information, as California law defines them:
- Identifiers, such as your name, email address, phone number, and IP address. Source: you, and your device when you visit the website.
- Customer records, such as your contact details and, for clients, business financial records. Source: you.
- Commercial information, such as the services you asked about or hired us for. Source: you.
- Internet activity, such as the pages you viewed on our website. Source: your device, through cookies.
- Approximate location, based on your IP address. Source: your device.
- Professional information, such as your business name and role. Source: you.
We collected this information for the purposes listed in “How We Use Your Information.” We disclosed it for business purposes only to the service providers and other recipients listed in “How We Share Your Information.” We did not sell or share any of it.
How to make a request
- Email: inbox@rgnaccounting.com
- Phone: (510) 523-3368
To protect your information, we will confirm your identity before we act on a request, usually by matching details you give us with information we already have. You can also have an authorized agent make a request for you. We will ask the agent for proof that you gave them permission, and we may ask you to confirm your identity with us directly.
We will confirm we received your request within 10 business days and answer within 45 days. If we need more time, up to another 45 days, we will tell you why.
Shine the Light
California’s “Shine the Light” law lets California residents ask whether a business shared their personal information with other companies for those companies’ own direct marketing. We do not share personal information for that purpose.
Children’s Privacy
Our website and services are for businesses and adults. They are not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
Links to Other Websites
If you follow a link from our website to another site, that site’s own privacy policy applies. We are not responsible for how other websites handle your information.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will post the new version on this page and change the “Last updated” date at the top. If we make a significant change, we will also place a notice at the top of this page. Please check back from time to time.
